THE PREACHER MAN ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 Well I went down to Georgia Where I met me a preacher man He said, son I can save your soul from hell So help me God, I can He said, you may be no angel You may be no saint But you may not be half the bad-ass demon that you paint. Chorus But you can save your soul from hell, my son You can ease your pain Take shelter from the storm, my son Just step in from the rain. Well I listened to him preaching And boy, the man was good If anyone could save my soul I guess this preacher could He said, son you must find Jesus And if you look just right, If you open up your eyes, my son You just might see the light. Chorus Well he said, hallelujah And I said, praise the Lord He said, son you can make fun of me But God won't be ignored He said, open up your heart, my son And sing out to the Lord If you ask him to forgive you, son You'll get your just reward. Chorus When he had finished speaking I heard him say Amen Before he turned to walk away He looked at me again He said, son, you know God loves you You should talk with him a spell For though he was the son of God But even Jesus fell. Chorus Well I watched him walking down the street With his bible in his hand I knew what he was saying About the Promised Land And as I slowly watched him Fade away to out of sight I could feel the sunshine on my face And I could see the light. Chorus x 2

'TIL YOU WALK AWHILE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 I just want to tell you that I'm sorry I never meant to spread such silly lies 'Cause hurting you was never my intention And if I did, I do apologise. Chorus 'Cause I don't want to be no judge or jury And I don't want to condemn or accuse But you can never tell someone How they should live their lives 'Til you walk awhile in someone else's shoes. I don't want to be no bitter old man 'Cause bitter old men go through life alone And someday if I ever meet my maker I'd like to think I'll know which way I'm going. Chorus I don't want you thinking that I'm crazy But people they can make me more than mad And just because they think I'm different maybe No matter what they say, I'm not that bad. Chorus I don't want to wake up dead some morning Knowing that I never raised a hand In knowing that I caused no pain or suffering Or prejudice against my fellow man. Chorus

NOTHING HAS CHANGED ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 I saw you lying there, dead in the snow In a picture that was taken so many years ago And it hung on the wall like some big old head A trophy to the men who shot you all dead. In the picture before, men were drinking a toast. They were probably boasting over who shot the most As they held up their chins and they stuck out their chests As they posed for their photographs in their Sunday best. Chorus Now all of you heroes are now dead and gone You're only remembered in stories and songs Yesterday's people on yesterday's plains Everything's different now, but nothing has changed. You were doing the ghost dance, that's how it read You were calling the spirits of your warrior dead In the shirts that you got from your medicine man Were said to stop bullets, but only God can. I was led to believe that when I was young That the good guy was the cowboy with the big shiny gun And if you had red skin, well you had to die It was only a game, but we never knew why. Chorus Well they sold their movies, and we bought their lies But our heroes were the ones that we grew to despise When the great white father had blood on his hands And he broke all his treaties, and took all your lands. Then they buried you all in a mighty big hole Without any respect for you, body or soul When their great carbine guns rained down misery And you died in the snow that day at Wounded Knee. Chorus

BRIGHT SIDE OF THE MOON ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 Well, my bags are packed and I'm rolling down the road Got this whole wide world, but I've got no fixed abode And if you don't like what you're doing, come on meet me here real soon And I'll see you on the bright side of the moon. Where I lay my head is where I make my home Like to feel the ground beneath my weary bones But hey it might rain soon, like some big old mad monsoon So I'll see you on the bright side of the moon. CHORUS Where the breeze blows warm and the days burn long and bright And the moon shines like the sun on a summer's night So drop everything you're doing, come on meet me here real soon And I'll see you on the bright side of the moon. Like to free my mind and feed my feeble soul Have to say I like to rock and like to roll But dare I speak too soon, like some big old hot air balloon So I'll see you on the bright side of the moon. CHORUS

THE WIND IN HER HAIR ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 The first time I saw her, she was handsome and fine And my heart, it was woken, in silence did pine As she stood by the fountain, so lovely to see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me. How often I lay down to sleep for the night With the moon in the sky as my only light As my weary eyes close, it's her I will see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me. The sun, it was shining one fine summer's day As we strolled hand in hand as we went our way And when we had spoken, my heart she could see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me. And now as I lie here, my heart fills with pride And the girl from the fountain asleep by my side And when I awaken, it's her I will see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me. I may be nobody, but I'm nobody's man And I'll go my own way the best way I can With the girl from the fountain that day I did see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me With the girl from the fountain that day I did see With the wind in her hair and she smiling at me.

ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 I wake up every morning And the summer sun comes shining Feels like I'm in heaven in a way To hear the songbirds singing out There's magic there that's all about I know it's going to be a lovely day. Chorus Oh shine down summer sun, shine down on me You make me feel the way I like to be It feels so good to feel so nice, Another day in paradise Won't you shine down, summer sun, shine down on me. I get up and I comb my hair The phone may ring, but I'm not there I'm in my mind a million miles away It feels so good to be alone So little time to call your own I know it's going to be a lovely day. Chorus I walk along and I look around And hear the silence of the sound Wishing life could always be this way When nothing ever gets you down You're floating freely above the ground I know it's going to be a lovely day. Chorus I lay down and I sleep at night The world may end, but that's all right And if I die, well maybe that's ok But when I open up my eyes And see the sun come up to rise I know it's going to be a lovely day. Repeat Chorus

WHEN SOMEONE NEEDS A FRIEND ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 You can break your mind and body You can lose all self-control You can say things never hurt you Though it cuts you to the soul You can live a life of make-believe You can sit there and pretend But there comes a time in every life When someone needs a friend. Chorus So hold me now, don't ever let me go I need a helping hand I need someone who knows me Someone who'll understand I'm fragile like a flower That's blowing in the breeze I'm strong in mind and body But I'm weak around the knees And I feel like I've been drowning, Like I'm swimming on dry land And only those who know me Are those who understand. You can walk in all directions If you don't know where you're going You can feel like you're invincible But you're only flesh and bone So you sit there in your castle And you hold out 'til the end But there comes a time in every life When someone needs a friend. Chorus You want to be somebody But you don't know who you are You've spent your whole life searching And sometimes you went too far So you make like you're an island 'Til you slowly comprehend That there comes a time in every life When someone needs a friend. Chorus

YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE FAITH ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 I wake up every morning with the rising sun Going to have a great day Going to have some fun Going to take my time 'Cause hey, man, time won't wait I'm going to say something simple for you to hear I'm going to say it loud, I'm going to say it clear, All you've got to do is, hey, you've got to have faith. Chorus A little bit of luck can go a long way A little bit of learning can never go astray A little bit of love can get you through your day A little bit of hope is all a body needs No bigger than the grain of a mustard seed So all you've go to do is, hey, you've got to have faith. I'm going to pull no punches, going to pull no strings Going to tow the line 'til the fat lady sings. Going to mend my ways before it gets too late. 'Cause when your neck's on the block And your head's on the plate And you stand before that pearly gate All you've got to do is, hey, you've got to have faith. Chorus I sit out every evening, watch the sun going down Got the craziest thoughts in my head running 'round Got to clear my mind, 'cause hey, I can't think straight Now take your time, but don't be late All good things come to those who wait And all you've got to do is, hey, you've got to have faith. Chorus

THE TIME HAS COME ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 Now the time has come to go And I want you all to know That it saddens me to go away There's so much that I'd like to say So please try to understand I need your love and a helping hand But there's something that you should know I love love love love you I love love love love you I do, I do. Now there's nothing there to fear If you listen, you can hear That there's something out there calling me And it's out there somewhere I should be 'Cause deep inside I always knew That you've got to do what you've got to do But there's something that you should know I love love love love you I love love love love you I do, I do. Now kiss and say goodbye It's hard to realise That everything will be just fine And we'll savour life like a vintage wine We'll all go our separate ways But our paths will cross again someday But there's something that you should know I love love love love you I love love love love you I do, I do. So, so long now 'til then Until we meet again And everything will be everything And we'll laugh and cry and dance and sing And we'll reminisce of yesteryear We'll share our joys and we'll shed our tears But there's something that you should know I love love love love you I love love love love you I do, I do.

STANDING ON YOUR OWN TWO FEET ©Billy O'Dwyer Bob 2000 People, don't you look so sad Life was never meant to be bad You're walking with your chin on the ground What you're putting out will come back around Life could be oh so sweet If you were standing on your own two feet. People like the walking dead Living with a gun to their head Can never buy that lost time back Heading for a heart attack Life could be such a treat If you were standing on your own two feet. Chorus Standing on your own two feet Standing on your own two feet Hey people, can you dig that beat I'm standing on my own two feet Life could be oh so sweet If you were standing on your own two feet. People listening to the sound Picking up what I'm putting down Everybody going insane Singing and dancing in the rain Everybody in the street Yeah, standing on their own two feet. Chorus People, on your dying bed Crazy thoughts go through your head Things you wish you'd said and done Times you wish you'd had more fun Life could be so complete If you were standing on your own two feet. Repeat chorus
